Scrapbook Page~School Photos

I tried my hand at traditional scrapbooking for my husbands school pictures. I can tell you I am not a fan of scrapbooking. I love digital scrapbooking. So much easier and less messy, but that is my opinion.
I cut out a camera using my Cricut, also the letters for his name.

Oh Sheet Blog Hop

Boo! Oh didn't mean to scare you but just wanted to have some fun and so do these incredible crafters who have made things that involve ghosts. I hope you will join us today and hop along to see what each person made.

Our hostess is Jearise from Lorby's World and her blog is the place to start at http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com  She will be having a give away so make sure to start there and see what she has to offer and learn how to get a chance to win.

Our sponsor for this hop is Jessica from SVG Attic so you have got to stop by her blog to see what she has up her sleeve. I'm sure you will gasp with delight!

Here is my ghostly creation for this hop...
I made a scrapbook page that I am currently displaying in my living room. My hubby and I host a pumpkin carving party every year. This Saturday I will have lots of new pictures to scrap. I used some old Halloween paper that I have had forever. Some cute ribbon and lots of cut files.
I used a lot of cut files from Miss Kate Cuttbales. She has such cute stuff. These ghosts are hers.
These pumpkins and the fence below are also her cut files. The ghost and fence are both in Halloween Borders Set. The pumpkins were a freebie that I loved and had to add.

Thanks for floating in today to see what spootacular creation I did and now float on to Lynne's blog.

Summer Time Blog Hop

Welcome to the Summer Time Blog Hop. If you happened here head on over to Suzanne to start at the beginning.
Here is a traditional scrapbook page I made to display in my living room. I used DCWV paper.
I used real small starfish and sand dollars. The netting is from Hobby Lobby in the decoration section by the shells.
I cut this lighthouse using my Cricut and Life is a Beach cartridge.
More real shells, starfish and sand dollars.
I used my Cricut and Life is a Beach to cut out the summer. I embossed it with dots.
I bought this Recollections stand at Michaels. It was $14.99 and I used a 50% off. I thought it was a great way to display a page in my house.
Your next stop is Christine. Enjoy the hop.

For this hop there will be a grand prize winner who will win $60 of new scrapbooking supplies, sponsored from Zannie Berrie Scrapbooking.
In order to be eligible for prize you must comment and follow each blog.

52 Weeks of Gratitude

Inspired Stamps is starting a weekly challenge of gratitude. I have a tendency to focus on what I dont have or my unanswered prayers instead of all the wonderful things I have in my life. So I am going to try and join in on this challenge. We will see if I follow through all year but I have a plan for that.
I am using a small binder to hold my gratitude notes. I used a HLO stamp and Psalm's 18:2 scripture which is a very important verse to me.
I started my book with the thing I am most grateful for, my husband.
I am making mine like a scrapbook. I used index cards that I punched and cut down for my notes.
I added a love scripture to this page and one of my favorite pictures of my hubby.
I used the journaling stamps thankful on both pages.
I and some more Inspired stamps hearts and scripture to my note on the second page.
There are scripture to follow each week if you want to join in on the fun. I had to start my book with the most important thing in my world.
Here are January's scriptures. You can find all the details and join in on the fun here. http://www.inspiredstamps.blogspot.com/2012/12/join-us-for-52-weeks-of-gratitude.html
Jan 6:  Psalm 118:24
Jan 13 Psalm 92:4
Jan 20 Psalm 47:1
Jan 27 Psalm 28:7

Gate Fold Cards

I made a bright gate fold card for my first time and it did not come out perfectly. So I decorated it and am going to keep it for myself. This is what happens when I start crafting after 11pm. It came out cute but doesn't fold quite right.

My second one however came out just right. I decorated it with pictures of my sister and I and gave it to her for her birthday (a day late). I like how it came out. I decorated it simply with lots of swirls cut with my Cricut. If you would like details on how to make it go to this blog for instructions.

I really enjoyed making this card and it is actually pretty easy to make. I think the hardest part was finding the pictures.

Tag Scrapbook Frame

The local scrapbook store had one of these made from a kit. It had four tags but I did not have that much time so I made it two. I love the way it came out.
I used Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and cut it at 9 in chipboard then cover with paper. Used a strip of chipboard to connect them. I bought small canvas' at Micheal's and glued them on the tag. Added the pictures and details and there you have it. I really enjoyed making it.

Clock

I made this clock for my mother in law. I found this idea on the Cricut message board.  I glued the paper to the canvas, added ribbon to the seams of the paper, and decorated it. Added a couple pictures and a saying. I bought a clock kit from Joann's and followed the instructions on how to install it.

Mini scrap book ~~Toilet Paper Roll 1

I found this great you tube video on the Cricut message board and decided to try one for myself. I liked it so much I made two.
http://paperjewels.blogspot.com/2009/01/toilet-tissue-tube-book-and-tutorial.html
I made mine by smashing the toilet paper holder together then applying spray adhesive all over the roll and wrapping the paper around it. Once it dried I glued ribbon over the crease. I then put the wallet size photos, I ordered them through Costco, on the paper. I tied ribbon to the binding. For how to bind what they tutorial above. The tags I used on the inside of each roll where cut from Plantin School Book cartridge, chipboard or thick paper, than cover with decorative paper.
The cover I used my Cricut to cut out the letter and my stamp from Micheal's dollar bin. I used gamsol to blend the colors on my girl.

Lots of ideas from lots of great women crafters came into play on this project.

My first hand made scrapbook

I decided to make my own scrapbook for my future cousin in laws wedding. I am happy with how it came out and excited it didn't take very long to make.
