365 Cards: Day 122 challenge

Blue cards are my favorite to make since it is my favorite color. I would use blue in every card if I could.

This card I used Alcohol inks to make the background paper and a cute stamp set I picked up on sale at Micheal's. I love making the backgrounds with the alcohol inks. If you haven't tried it yet you really should. Hope you all like the card. Comments are always appreciated! Thanks for looking.

365 Cards Challenge 104

http://365cards.blogspot.com/2010/06/day-104-lifes-party.html

This is one of my new favorite cards I have made. I added the party time stamp in for the challenge. I cut one inch square on the Cricut with George. The cake I drew by hand and colored with my prismacolor pencils. I put glass beads on top of Glossy accents by Inkssentials for the frosting. I cut a large Tag from TBBM and there you have it. I love how it came out.

365 Cards Challenge 95 & 102

Well I started out by making a card for challenge 102 about repetition and end up on someones blog that had challenge 95 on their blog and I decided to do that one too.

I made my repetition card using a stamp I just bought at a crafty yard sale. Then the cricut catridge Beyond Birthdays for the happy day and Celebrations for the balloons. The repetitions of the words and the balloons went well on this card. Not my favorite card I have made but I was trying to use colors that I am not a fan of instead of the my same old colors all the time.

And speaking of the same old colors. I made a set of cards for the about me challenge. Which is typical for me. I am an over achiever and can never just do one. I used my favorite colors which are loud and bright like me. These colors are common in my life. Just ask my guest bedroom, craft room or my wedding party :)

With these cards I used the Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks...which I love...to make the backgrounds. The stamps are a set I bought at Micheal's on sale which are from Stamendous. I bought them because they were on sale and have fallen in love with them. They are a lot of fun to color with my Prismacolor pencils.

Digital Scrapbooking

So now that summer vacation is here and I have the next ten weeks to relax and do whatever I want I am going to start explaining how to scrapbook digitally. I have a few friends that have been asking me to teach them how to scrapbook using Adobe Photoshop. I took a digital photography class while working on a photography degree so I know how to use photoshop pretty well. I started by making collages with it long before digital scrapbooking became popular. I now make scrapbook pages that come out great. I am going to attempt to make some how to videos and instruction for photoshop if for no one else then the few friends that I keep saying I will teach how to use it. Until then here are some of the pages I have done.

Hope she likes it.

Cupcakes

I made some cupcakes for my sisters on Mother's Day. They were very simple and really cute. I bought the fluffy socks at Micheal's for a buck each. Used the Cricut Easter cartridge to cut out the cupcake wrapper. It was the easiest project yet and very cute.

To answer Amy's comment...Red pom poms on top and the cup you decorate however you like. I am going to give them out at birthday gifts too.

Recent Cards-Alcohol Inks

I bought some Ranger Rick's alcohol inks and have been trying some new things with them. Here are some of the cards I have made with them. More to come it is addicting.

Valentine's Day Bag

My first attempt at a candy bag. It came out pretty good but I see some changes for next time. Here is the tutorial for the idea.

Tag Scrapbook Frame

The local scrapbook store had one of these made from a kit. It had four tags but I did not have that much time so I made it two. I love the way it came out.
I used Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and cut it at 9 in chipboard then cover with paper. Used a strip of chipboard to connect them. I bought small canvas' at Micheal's and glued them on the tag. Added the pictures and details and there you have it. I really enjoyed making it.

Pop top cans

I saw this idea on cricut.com and loved it. I tried it for Christmas presents for my nephew's and niece's for Christmas. I filled them with candy and a gift card. They were very easy to do.
I tried the first two with hot glue to seal and do not recommend it. Then I used Gorilla glue (which is at the craft stores. I got mine at Micheal's for $5). Some of the bottoms did not look fantastic so I put ribbon around the bottom. I recommend putting a lot of pressure on the can after gluing and leaving it on there for a least an hour.
When you are looking for cans to use make sure the bottom is not rounded on the edges. The saftey can opener(I got mine from pampered chef for under $15) will not work on it. The bottom edges should look the same as the top edges.
Also I recommend a thin scrap booking paper since it bends easily and can be glued easily to the cans. I used spray glue for the paper since it is cheap and goes a long way.
Here is the link to the tutorial I used for inspiration. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/pop_top_can/

Add a tag with Christmas stamps on the other side on these two larger cans.

Have fun with making these. I think you will love the results.
