Decorated Gift Bags

I love to take a plan gift bag and make it pretty. I decorated several bags for my husbands employees. I love how cute they came out. I hot glued two candy canes together to make a tag. I cut a stocking from Christmas Cheer and put the people's names on it then glued it to the candy canes. I love picking out the pretty papers and matching ribbons to decorate these bags. I have made them for several friends too and they seem to love them.

My husband is a lucky man, I made all these bags for him to give out at work.

Here are a couple bags I decorated for my friends.

Tags I added to the back are ornaments I had made last year and never got a chance to give them to them so I added them to the back of the bags.

Heart Glitter Bulbs

I made these for a friend. She loved them. I did the floor wax then fine glitter on the inside and decorated them with vinyl cut out on the outside.

Christmas Candles

I was looking around the dollar store trying to find things that I could use to make something that I actually came up with. I make all kinds of fantastic crafts but not many of the ideas I came up with myself. I have been inspired by all you great crafters and made many great things with your wonderful ideas. I wanted to see if I could make something myself. I found these little candles in tins.

I thought I could alter them and this is what I came up with so far.

My first attempt I scratched up the lid so had to put ribbon around the lid.
After that I cut out the circles on the cricut for the top. Then used Christmas Cheer to cut out the trees on top.

Here is the top of all four I have made so far.

Candy Bar Wrappers

I made a couple of candy bar wrappers. Now these are the easiest thing I think I have ever made. No instructions needed. I am waiting for my new stamps to get here before I finish the snowman. I used Doodlecharms for that snowman. I used Create a Critter for the reindeer. I really enjoy making these so many more of these to come in my future crafting I imagine.

Cupcake Birthday Card

This card was an experiment. I didn't have the color paper I wanted so I used Distress Ink and blotted the whole outside of the paper. I cut out a cupcake from Doodlecharms and the rest is history. I was making this card while I had a very bad cold so it took me a long time and lots of staring at a blank card. Finally it was done. It came out pretty good and unique.

Birthday Card for my brother

Simple card. I did not use the Cricut just a cute stamp that I colored. I was having a hard time getting inspired. It is hard for me to make cards for guys but I like how this one came out.

Snowman Soup

Here is another Christmas gift I made. I love making all these but there are only so many people to give things to and since I have no luck with selling so I figure I will make a few of each and give out to my coworkers. This one is a super cute idea and very inexpensive. I bought a 10 pack of cocoa for 99 cents, large bag of marshmallows just over a dollar, a large box of candy canes under $3 and 100 bags for $3 at walmart. Of course the paper I already have. So around $8 to make many of these. I think these are actually more economical then the M&M's crafts since M&M's are not that cheap and you can't make that many with one bag.

I used my cricut to cut out the snowman head. I think I used Christmas Cheer for this head. I printed the poem and put it on the back.

Here is the poem I used.

Was told you've been real good this year.
Always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near,
You'll need to warm the spirit.
So here's a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick.
Add hot water, sip it slow.
It's sure to do the trick!

Again I got this on my favorite Christmas website. http://christmas.organizedhome.com/gifts-crafts-gift-tags/snowman-soup

If you are not super crafty you could always print off the tags on their website.
I also found this other snowman soup that is soooo cute that I might have to try this one.

Online Ordering

The bad thing about being home sick is the ability to shop online. I just placed my first order to Hobby Lobby and Peachy Keen. I am so excited that there is a Hobby Lobby coming to my town. I looked online and there are no other ones in CA. I am amazed they are coming to Visalia of all the places in CA. I hope they open soon. I am loving the holiday discounts though. Shipping was only 3 bucks and they currently have a 40% of for an item as well. So since I can't get to the store I ordered my refill for my xyron and some wood letters to make as xmas gifts.
I also ordered my first set of Peachy Keen stamps. I just got the basic faces assortment to start with. I am extremely cheap so $25 bucks is a lot for me to spend on stamps but again they had a holiday deal with 10% off and 99 cent shipping so not too bad.
The best part about the holidays is when my hubby asks what I spent money on I can say Christmas presents. :)

Rudolph Spares

I made these with red M&M's instead of red hots because I don't like them. This one is super simple to make.

Again feeling overwhelmed this year. Let me make them for you :)

Grinch Pills

There are several different ways to make these ones. I made a simple one with M&M's in a small bag and made a cute tag. I am going to give these out to a few Grinchs I know.

I am also selling these on Etsy. 5 for $7. If you are not feeling like making crafts this year let me make them for you.

Christmas Treats

Latest project...I am making these for simple gifts to give out at my husbands work. They came out cute and they were simple to make. I am trying Etsy to see if I can sell some. I need to start selling some of my creations since I am making too many things for just the people around me. Let me know if you are interested or have any ideas on how I can sell my creations. Locally there are not many places around here to sell things.

Christmas Projects

I am trying to get a jump on Christmas projects this year. Here is a sneak preview at some of the things I am making.

Pumpkin & Turkey Poop

I am finally starting to catch up on my posting my latest craft projects. I saw this idea a couple times and decide to make them too. They are so easy to make and I had everything but the candy. I cut the turkey and the pumpkin from Create a Critter. I loved how they looked so I added the poem on the back of the bag.

Poem Reads:
Pumpkin Poop
I started to carve a pumpkin
with my carving knife and scoop
but the pumpkin got so scared
he took a little poop!
It looked so cute and funny
just like a candy treat
so I’m sharing it with you now
because you are so sweet!

Turkey Poop
You invited me to dinner,
where I was the main dish.
You scared me so badly,
You know, you had me duped!
So here’s my little calling card.
A bag of Turkey Poop!

There are several versions of the poem I added some links below, but I used the above.

Owl Xmas Card

I was inspired by a card in an old copy of Papercrafters. I love that magazine.

First Christmas Cards

These cards fit great with the color throwdown. http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2010/10/color-throwdown-114.html

I love how these two cards came out. They did not take long to make either. I made the reindeer from Create a Critter. So cute.

Alcohol ink made this background. The season greeting stamp did not come out perfect but its not to bad.

Birthday Card ~Pink & Brown

I made this card today. I kept it simple with a cute Happy Bday cut from my cricut. I love how the string looks on it.

Happy Birthday Cards

As most of you know I started back to work and the last month has been crazy busy. I have not had too much time to create. I actually got to make a few cards lately and wanted to show them off.
I love how this card came out. I took a page from a book and blotted it with Ranger Rick's Antique Linen to make it look older.

This card I kept very simple. It is not my style or colors I like but it came out cute anyways.

More sour cream containers

After making these containers for my sis in laws shower and realizing how easy they are to make I made a few more for some coworkers at school. I love these containers. If you have not tried them yet you should. The red tape Candace shows in the tutorial works great. You can get it at Micheal's. Check my baby shower post for the tutorial on how to make these.

Baby Shower

My sister, mom and I gave my sister in law a baby shower yesterday and I wanted to share some of the things we made.

The banner came out cute. It was my first attempt at a banner. It was pretty simple. I cut the background pink parts by hand and used my cricut to cut out the letters and the girl part.

I made cupcakes with little cut out toppers. Just a scallop cut out from Winter Wonderland and a circle cut out with a couple different baby stamps on them. Very simple and easy to make. I stapled the two scallops together with pink staples so I did not have to use any adhesive. They came out cute.

My sister helped me with the favors. These were very simple to make. I am thankful for the craftiness of others for inspiring this one. For the tutorial go here http://scrapadoodledee.blogspot.com/2010/07/blog-hop-tutorial-prize.html
I added a little pacifier from my cricut sampler cartridge. We stamped them with cute baby stamps and folded them up with kisses inside. Easy project. Thanks Candace.
